Stumped on what to get your friends and family for Christmas this year? Don’t worry, I’ve got your back! Due to lockdown, many of us are resorting to shopping exclusively online this year which can be overwhelming if you don’t know where to look. Personally, I think this is a great opportunity to support some smaller businesses you may not have heard of. Feel free to read part 1 here for some more ideas!
1. FUDGE KITCHEN
I was lucky enough to try a sample from Fudge Kitchen in Edinburgh at the start of this year and it was so dreamy! They have a few stores located throughout the UK and have a very tasty range of products to choose from. My friend Amy swears she would die for their ‘dark chocolate and sea salt’ fudge, so this flavour is definitely one to consider if the receiver of your gift has a sweet tooth. Just looking at their website gives me cravings!
2. FLORRIE FLORALS
Florrie Florals are perfect if you’re looking for something bespoke and unique to give as a gift this year. They sell a range of beautiful wreaths and other floral designs that will brighten up any room. You can even request personalisations to suit the lucky person on the receiving end! This shop was recommended to me by my friend Anna and I will most certainly be considering some of these gorgeous designs for gifts this year.
3. BARKLEY AND FETCH
My friend Anna is also a dog-owner and passed on this recommendation for an Etsy shop that sells super cute and comfortable accessories for your furry friends. Barkley and Fetch sell a wide selection of top quality handmade dog collars, harnesses and bandanas. They would be a perfect gift for any dog-owning friends and family members out there.
4. YUMCHAA
Yumchaa is one of my favourite spots to buy loose tea leaves in London. During the colder months it was always the perfect place to stop by for a drink to warm up. But their tea is also great cold and was always super refreshing during summer. They do some absolutely delicious blends! Some of my personal favourites are ‘Notting Hill’, ‘Blueberry Hill’ and ‘Regent’s Park’. They also sell infusers, teapots and cold brew bottles which would complete your tea gift.
5. THE BOX CARD
Facemasks have become a normal part of our daily lives, and I’d argue that they would make a great stocking filler! As a glasses-wearer, I have spent months trying to find a facemask that helped prevent my glasses from steaming up. It’s the ultimate annoyance! The Box Card on Etsy do some really lovely designs that have nose wires and adjustable ear straps. Even if you don’t wear glasses, these masks are super comfortable to wear and being able to shape them around your face with the nose wire just looks smarter.
Big thanks to Anna and Amy for contributing some recommendations for this list. It’s really important to me that I’m recommending businesses that either I or someone I know have had a good experience with. Please consider shopping at small and independent businesses. They could really do with your support more than ever this year!
